Recently, two interconnected strategic moves by China's HILONG GROUP OF COMPANIES have marked a significant step forward in its evolution as an integrated offshore energy solutions provider, combining a breakthrough contract win with a critical manufacturing capacity expansion.
Building on a seven-year collaborative relationship with Thailand's national upstream oil and gas firm PTTEP, Hilong has secured its first full EPCI contract for the ASK Development EPC03 Project in Myanmar. Prior to this, the partnership was limited to specialized services including FEED studies, project management, and subsea installation. The upgrade to full EPCI delivery underscores PTTEP's recognition of Hilong's mature project management systems, engineering expertise, and consistent HSE performance. The project will deliver two offshore wellhead platforms to develop Myanmar's natural gas reserves, directly enhancing local energy supply reliability and supporting regional economic development.
Complementing this contract win, Hilong has formalized plans for a 336,000-square-meter high-end offshore equipment R&D, manufacturing and O&M base in Qidong, Jiangsu. The state-of-the-art facility resolves a key operational constraint for the company, which previously relied on external shipyards for large-scale construction. Upon full commissioning, the base will boast an annual capacity of over 150,000 tons of high-end offshore equipment and 60,000 tons of steel structure processing, accommodating 3,000 workers at peak capacity. It will integrate the full value chain from R&D and design to smart manufacturing and lifecycle maintenance, enabling Hilong's transition to end-to-end EPCIC service delivery.
These dual developments position Hilong to execute the ASK project to global standards and capitalize on the growing demand for offshore energy infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
